Library

The Faculty of Education (FIP) Library houses approximately 11,670 book collections, 2,350 journals, and 3,060 thesis and dissertation collections, and it subscribes to a number of magazines and newspapers. The book collection is continuously expanded through the acquisition of new titles, including contributions from alumni and students, particularly those participating in the Sandwich Program.
The FIP UNY Library is networked with the UNY Central Library, which holds approximately 33,124 book titles, as well as with the libraries of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga (UIN Sunan Kalijaga). This inter-library collaboration enables mutual support in locating and accessing academic resources required by students. In addition, the FIP UNY Library provides access to international journals through subscriptions to ProQuest.

Electronic Library

To further enhance the quality of its services, the FIP UNY Library has developed a website as a medium to connect with the global academic community. The website can be accessed at http://library.fip.uny.ac.id. Through this platform, library users are able to search for required collections anytime and anywhere without the need to visit the library in person.
Moreover, users are provided with access to electronic journals subscribed to by UNY, including ProQuest (http://www.proquest.com/pqdweb), EBSCO (http://search.ebscohost.com), and Gale (http://infotrac.galegroup.com), which are funded through subscriptions by the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI). In the coming years, the library plans to further develop a digital collection database comprising dissertations, theses, and e-books that can be accessed in full text through the library’s local area network (LAN).

Computer and Internet Laboratory

To support various academic activities, FIP UNY is equipped with adequately resourced computer laboratories. Almost all computers in these laboratories are connected to the internet, enabling students to easily access the information they require. The computer laboratories also collaborate with the UNY Computer Center, whose facilities can be utilized by students at an affordable cost.

Multimedia Classrooms

The classrooms at FIP UNY are equipped with instructional media that support diverse learning needs. All classrooms are also air-conditioned, ensuring a comfortable and conducive learning environment.

Language Services

FIP UNY demonstrates strong concern for the English language proficiency of both students and academic staff. It provides a language services unit that assists students who experience difficulties in understanding English-language references, particularly in writing thesis and dissertation abstracts. Although the unit does not directly administer TOEFL tests, it facilitates students in obtaining TOEFL certification. To further enhance the English proficiency of FIP academic staff and administrators, the language services unit regularly organizes journal club activities.

Other Supporting Facilities

As students of UNY, FIP UNY students are entitled to utilize various supporting facilities provided by the university, including the Computer Center (Puskom), the university polyclinic, sports and fitness facilities, hotspot areas, and other campus support services.
